Hello Web, Goodbye Self Respect

It is official: I have finally started my own blog. I am not a huge reader of blogs, but thought it might be a nice forum for the many wondrous (and even more infantile) thoughts that meander through my brain.

For the strangers and acquaintances that do not know me, yet are still reading this (no doubt due to a misdirected link), my name is David Thomas Xavier Joria... or 'Dave Joria' for short. I am in my mid 20s, but have had the joy of wearing many different hats: I am, or have been, all of the following: actor, writer (novel, script, comic, and [long ago] fan-fiction), game designer, substitute teacher, singer, lyricist, and amateur cook. A jack of many, master of none.

While my unhealthy ego momentary swells to look at the above list, I do not post it to toot my horn. I post it as a snag, or perhaps, a warning, that my blog will tend to shift from topic to topic at will. One day, I may present a new approach for character creation for writers, the next I may be reviewing a new card game, and the next, I may be posting a recipe. Or, like many blogs, may just stick a random 3-line pearl from the day.

However, I hope and aspire in my soul to avoid the following:
~ To limit the number of Jerry Seinfeld-esque observations about life's so-called ironies, postulating on the non-funny, non-controversial topic, for the sole purpose of pandering for a quick laugh. (Ex. '2% milk... What's with that?')
~ Too much politics. I am a 'tax & spend' democrat, but I try not to ram my views down other's throats, so do not expect too many political posts. If this blog has not been abandoned by 2012, expect a few more come election time.
~ To use this as a conduit for my grief and sorrow. I can be as melancholy as the next guy, but I generally do not rail against the world and the meaninglessness of life. Surprisingly, my life is really good right now, and I am (dare I jinx it) quite happy. *Knocks on wood*

Still reading after all that? I'm generally surprised.
